Led fluorescent tubes are suitable as such to replace conventional fluorescent tubes. Our Led tubes will fit 99% of old fluorescent tube bodies. The light does not crackle or flicker, and comes on instantly.

T8 Fluorescent tube with LED technology - features

The advantages of the LED tube are its long lifetime compared to a standard T8 fluorescent tube. The T8 tube is also easy to use, as you no longer need to change the lighter: the LED fluorescent tube comes with a lighter or you don't need one at all. The Led T8 fluorescent tube lights up instantly, so it can also be used with a motion sensor.

Led fluorescent tubes are very resistant to cold, so there is no problem with a reduction in light output when they are installed outside. In fact, led lasts a little longer in the cold and burns brighter.

With our Led fluorescent tubes, you get significantly more downward beneficial light than with a standard fluorescent tube. So, for example, 25W LED tubes are equivalent in luminous intensity to 58W fluorescent tubes, which means up to 60% lower energy consumption.

If the started and ballast are removed from the fluorescent tube body (modification), the energy saving increases up to 80%.

In our Led fluorescent tubes, the light comes in 160 degrees in one direction and the direction of the light can be changed from 0 to 30 degrees (depending on the model of the Led tube).

High quality T8 led tube produces high colour rendering light

For the light hue of the led tube you can choose either a warm 3000K, a neutral 4 000K, a cool 5000K light hue or the so-called daylight hue of 6 000 Kelvin. The tubes have a high colour rendering index, so the light is not a tinted blue light and the luminaire does not distort colours.

A colour rendering index of CRI 90, CRI95 or even CRI98 ensures that ambient colours are reproduced brightly and naturally. If you need a larger batch (more than 50 pieces) then we can make fluorescent tubes in the colour tone of the light you want.

Two different installation methods

Led tubes are one of the few types of bulbs that cannot always be directly replaced by an old bulb. So be careful with the trade! This is because the choke and igniter resistant electronics are more expensive and also leave the components with fire risk still in the fluorescent tube body.

What makes it tricky is that the modification is electrical work, so it requires professional help to make the change. LedStore offers an installation service if required.

Compatible T8 led tubes

Installing an LED tube is simple, and can often be done without having to change the luminaire's construction. It requires what is known as a compatible led tube. The LED tube often works directly with the ballast of an old fluorescent tube, which means that the ballast does not need to be removed or replaced. This makes replacement quick and easy.

So in some solutions, the old ballast is still left in the body of the luminaire, consuming electricity unnecessarily all the time. So in such solutions we have a ballast -> led tube with additional electronics for the ballast -> power supply -> led circuits.

The risks in a traditional fluorescent lamp are the ballast and the oxidized connectors, and the fluorescent tube itself. Therefore, it is also recommended to replace the body with the old tubes.

The compatible tube is available in our range in lengths of 60cm, 120cm and 150cm.

It is important to remember, however, that not all LED tubes are compatible with all luminaires. Some LED tubes require modification of the luminaire to work properly. Therefore, it is important to choose the right LED tube to replace the fluorescent tube. There are LED tubes that work directly with the ballast of old fluorescent tubes, but there are also LED tubes that require the ballast to be removed or replaced.

In some new types of led tubes, the idea is that the lamp body is also replaced or modified from the old fluorescent tube body. The modification involves removing the ballast and running the mains current directly to the other end of the tube. The other end is usually short-circuited in such LED tubes to prevent the tube from passing voltage.

Modification work is electrical work and if required we also offer installation service in the Finnish Capital region.
