How does VaLO wireless control work?

For wireless control you need 2 parts. A transmitter and a receiver. Transmitters are any wall-mounted or hand-held controller. The transmitter has a CR2430 battery that lasts a long time, 2-5 years. The transmitter only sends an RF (Radio Frequency) command to the receiver. All the "intelligence" is in the receiver. The receivers are the VaLO family of transformers and dimmers.

Does VaLO wireless control work reliably?

Yes. We have been supplying wireless devices for a long time and rarely have any problems with them.

Are the VaLO buttons (wall model) made of glass?

Yes, they are.

Which furniture series are VaLO wall buttons suitable for?

-Tailor: EXXACT

-BERKER: S1,B1,B3,B7 Glass

-GIRA: Standard55, E2, Event, Esprit

-JUNG: A500, Aplus

-MERTEN: M-smart, M-arc, M-plan

How is the button taught to the receiver?

Press the "Learning" button on the receiver once and within 3 seconds press the button of your choice. The light will flash after successful pairing.

How to reset the receiver (forget the pairing)?

Hold down the "Learning" button on the receiver for 5 seconds. The light will flash once to indicate success.

How many buttons can be taught to one receiver?

4 pieces. Note! Android/Ios app is a "button".

How many receivers can be taught on one button?

4 pieces, so for example in the kitchen the transformers are on opposite walls and they light 99,9% of the time at the same time, but if the 0,1% bothers you, there is a button for each =).

How many wireless VaLO RF devices can I have at the same location?

We have +20pcs in the store and the limit is 30pcs in the same location after which the signal sites run out.

How far does the VaLO RF signal carry?

30m in free airspace. Gypsum wall reduced to 10m. The only problem is the reinforced concrete (It's good music though!)... It won't let the signal through because it creates a Faraday cage.

The commands on the button do not go through. Where is the problem?

The fault may be in the receiver or the button.

- switch off the power (the receiver may have jammed due to a radio interference)

- replace the battery in the button =)

- reset the button and teach again (points 5. and 6.)

- If the button only works in the immediate vicinity of the receiver, the problem is radio interference from elsewhere. Usually it is a transformer.

- If you have a transformer and a separate receiver, try to see if the lights work with just the transformer without the receiver in between. If not, the transformer is broken.

- If nothing helped, LedStore's VaLO product line has a 5 year warranty, so don't worry!

Will this work with wifi/rf controllers from other manufacturers?

Unfortunately not. That's not an open prototype. We have Zigbee versions for that. Zigbee works with all Zigbee devices.

Moi. How close to other transmitters can transmitters be placed. For example in a warehouse on the same disk tray next to each other? Which placement do you recommend?

May be in the same place, we have not observed any effect on each other over the years. Generally the best place is in the same room as the transmitter, i.e. not behind 3 walls in the technical room... Of course if there are plaster walls in there too then it will probably still work..

Is it possible to control each channel of the transformer wirelessly separately?

Unable to. Channels are intended for multicolour different shades. Each channel has only negative voltage. The transformer has only one positive output.

What kind of service hatch can I install a Zigbee transformer behind? I understand the protocol is not very intrusive and will it work behind a metal hatch for example?

A standard sheet metal or plaster hatch is a viable solution.
