In Finland, the JANA luminaire used in the construction industry has long been popular. The luminaire has ready sockets and its own switch with light. Nowadays, the best way to replace them is to use LED strip lights. In this case, the luminaire is replaced by a simple corner socket and an LED strip. You can find the right led strip lights in this category.
In this category, we present popular led solutions for your kitchen, led strips and kits. ALL of our led strips can be found here. We always try to keep all products in stock.
First, choose the right led strip for your kitchen area. There are many different led strip options in our range, and it doesn't matter which one you choose. The following types of led strip lights can be selected for the kitchen to suit different needs:
Single-colour led strips will only give a single light to the kitchen worktop, and with the wrong coloured led strips in the kitchen partition, the partition may look different to the one in the shop. But if you already know which LED strip light colour works best in your kitchen countertop, you're in the right category.
Popular monochrome led strips:
Our most popular monochrome led strip model has long been our 14.4W 4000K led strip light.
That is, 4000K (neutral) has long been the most popular led strip shade, as it is not bluish or too yellow.
The final kitchen worktop light shade will be influenced by the colour of the materials in the kitchen and your own preference.
The CCT led strip is the most popular solution for lighting the kitchen countertops. It is the perfect solution for any type of kitchen LED lighting. It is the best option for kitchen partitions.
So you can adjust the temperature of the light to match the shades of the kitchen materials or just to suit your own mood. The temperature control range, or Kelvin, of the CCT LED strip is adjustable between 2500 and 6500K. To control the LED strip, you need a Zigbee transformer, for example.
Popular CCT adjustable led strips:
The most popular temperature adjustable led strip is the 14.4W SOLO CCT led strip suitable for white kitchens
the14W CCT CCT LED strip is suitable for white kitchens, while the 22W CCT LED strip is suitable for a darker kitchen.
If your kitchen is black, I recommend a double 14.4W SOLO CCT led strip. More on that next.
Led strip wattage in the kitchen
If you make Some posts or read cookbooks then we recommend that the led strips are DOUBLE. So add plenty of light under your kitchen cabinets for shooting and reading. Also, if you're shooting under a task light, for light control we recommend you choose Zigbee transformers, as they have a high quality non-flickering light. The same transformers are also suitable for the Philips HUE system.
The same rule applies if you have a very dark kitchen. They eat up a lot of the light output, up to half. It's not good if you don't like the new LED strip in your kitchen and you immediately think about how to get more light. So don't skimp on power.
You can either install the same led strip light as on the worktop, but more commonly a lower wattage led light. We recommend using led strips with an output of 7.2W/metre or more.
In the kitchen, lower wattage led light is also installed in the base of the cupboard, i.e. 7.2W/m or 3.6W/m led strip lights.
i.e. if you use a 14,4W SOLO led strip light in the intermediate space, we recommend that you use a 3,6W or 7,2W SOLO led strip light on top of the cabinet or on the plinth, so that the light from the led strip is similar.
Lighting in the kitchen's crawl space is important, as the worktop counts as a workspace by its name. Countertop lighting must be of high quality and there must be enough light. The quality of light from a LED strip light is measured by the Colour Rendering Index (CRI). It tells you how well you can see all the colours in the light from the LED strip. This is especially important when photographing objects and reading. All the led strip lights in our shop have a very high colour rendering index: CRI95 or CRI98!
A high colour rendering index, CRI, means in practice that things look as they should, and colours are not distorted or look dull.
Led strips should always be installed on a metal surface. There are 5 reasons for this:
The light from a Led strip is beautifully even
The light of the Led strip will have a water and dust proof protection
Most importantly, the LEDs cool down, so they also last longer
The LEDs are permanently and durably fixed
A stylish appearance
Which LED profile to choose for my kitchen? The number of LED strips, the width of the LED strip and the installation location will all influence the choice of LED profile. All our led strips have a maximum width of 12mm.
If 2 led strips are installed in parallel or the led strip is wide, for example 16mm(Philips HUE), you will need a wider profile:
SURFACE 2 9x39mm led strip light profile in brushed aluminium or white is designed for kitchen partitioning where the number of led strips is 2.
Corner profile 30x30mm led profile silver can be equipped with up to three led strips!
If there is only one LED strip, there is more choice.
Our most popular profile designs are the low and narrow profiles. The colour is usually chosen according to the colour of the cabinet.
8x17mm low profile white, brushed aluminium or black
These profiles can also be recessed by milling a groove in the wood.
Kitchen partition strip for corner installation:
19x19mm corner profile in brushed aluminium. These corner-mounted aluminium profiles are also suitable for the front edge, to illuminate the back.
Also the previously mentioned corner profile 30x30mm led profile silver is suitable to cover old seams. in the corner of the cabinetry and can accommodate several led strips.
If the kitchen supplier or installer runs a shallow groove in the bottom of the cabinets:
See our available flush-mount f lush-mount profiles.
Yes Yes, you can. The Led strip is a low current product, i.e. it uses 12V led or 24V led voltage.
Yes. The LED circuits are always in series on the strip and you can cut them with scissors at the relevant point, usually every 5 cm.
For wall installations, the LED is installed with our indirect profile or angle profile models 19x19 mm or 30x30 mm.
For this we have made a separate article, led strip troubleshooting
This was a quick guide to the installation steps. In our experience, it takes 1 hour of work per profile.
We have also written on our blog on the topic
LedStore also offers kitchen partition lighting installed in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area.
You can also calculate and play with our led strip lighting calculator. With the calculator you can calculate the price of the kitchen cabinetry underneath, for example, different price packages. With the calculator you can calculate how the price changes if the led strip is monochrome or temperature adjustable. The calculator is in Finnish language.
With the calculator you can calculate the prices of profiles made to measure at once in 3 places:
