Kitchen lighting - Lighting areas

Kitchen lighting is an important part of kitchen comfort. Whether you need led lights for your kitchen partition or other kitchen lighting, you will find all the products you need here. There are many different types of kitchen lighting but there is one thing that everyone agrees on. The kitchen is a working space. This means that the lighting in your kitchen should be efficient enough so that you can see to make a bun or do homework with the kids. There are several lighting zones in the kitchen:

Kitchen island light

Kitchen island lighting is made by combining different lighting techniques. The function of the island is to do homework, have a breakfast or evening snack, and prepare food. The light should be very good where necessary.

Pendant lights - At the edge or centre of the island, usually several similar lights hanging over the island to complete the kitchen lighting.

Spotlights or panel lights - Recessed general lighting, spotlights or panel lights. Also available as surface mounted.

Kitchen worktop light

The kitchen worktop is traditionally where all the basic kitchen tasks are done. Making coffee, preparing food and washing up. The light should be good and here the most popular solution is a led strip for the kitchen worktop.

Kitchen cabinet light

Specifically, the upper kitchen cabinetry. Kitchen lighting is not just about countertop lighting, you should also be able to see inside those cabinets. Upper cabinets can be illuminated

Which kitchen light fixture?

A kitchen light fixture is traditionally placed on top of the dining table or on top of an island. A variety of options for a kitchen lighting solution:

• recessed led panel - A popular kitchen light fixture, up to 600x1200 in size. These products are all only 11mm thick, so you can recess almost any ceiling with the same or more surface material. The transformer can be taken to the side (35mm high).
• surface mounted led panel - If you want your kitchen light to be surface mounted. Several sizes, surface models are 25-50mm high.
• led strip in ceiling - A stylish kitchen light fixture with a line in the ceiling? You got it! Remember that there is always a transformer behind the led profile that needs to be installed somewhere..
• pendant light - The most traditional kitchen light. This is where you can find light rings (RING) or narrow (PIPLE) luminaires, usually installed in groups.

Downlights for the kitchen

Kitchen led lights can also be perfectly realized with led spots or led panels, which are available from LedStore in many different sizes.

• Led plafonds, i.e. round led panel luminaires, go well with led spots, for example, and are more traditional in design
• Led panels, i.e. square led panel lights for a more modern look or for a panel ceiling to support straight lines
• Ceiling mounted led spots are also a good option for focusing light on specific parts of the kitchen, e.g. upper cabinets.
• Led profiles recessed/surface mounted in the ceiling.

Led strip for kitchen - Countertop light

The most popular lighting in the kitchen is the led strip for the kitchen worktop. It has replaced traditional spot halogen lights or fluorescent tubes.

For lighting the crawl space, we recommend choosing a slightly more powerful led strip, i.e. at least 14.4W per metre. Today, the most popular led strips for the kitchen are temperature adjustable and dimmable led strips for the kitchen.

With temperature control, you can ensure that the temperature of the light is always right for your kitchen furniture.

Led strips for kitchen are suitable for underneath cabinets, but also for plinths or on top of cabinets!

Led strip lights are easy to use by choosing to use the led strip with a touch switch (requires soldering) or wireless control. The Led strip for the kitchen is a flexible choice, as the strip comes in a 5 metre roll and can be cut into lengths to suit your needs.

The Led strip becomes a luminaire when paired with a suitable aluminium profile, a transformer and, if required, a light switch. The Led strips are moisture-proof, so you can also install a single Led light strip under a drying cabinet, and any dripping water will not damage the Led light.

Light rail

Nowadays, a light rail also colloquially means an LED profile. That is, an LED strip attached to the bottom of a cabinet in an aluminium profile. The led strip can be installed all over the kitchen!
