Light colour temperature
The light colour temperature (CCT, correlated colour temperature) describes how warm or cool the tone of light appears and is measured in kelvins (K).
Lower values, such as 2700–3000 K, produce a warm and cosy light similar to traditional incandescent or halogen lamps.
4000 K is considered neutral white, offering neutral and fresh lighting.
Higher values, like 5000–6500 K, create cool, daylight-like light that is stimulating.
In nature, colour temperature constantly varies. Many LedStore luminaires and LED strips feature adjustable colour temperature (CCT), allowing you to fine-tune the tone of light as needed.
Choosing the right colour temperature
Select the colour temperature according to the purpose of the space and its decor. Most importantly, choose the tone you find most comfortable!
Warm tones highlight wooden surfaces beautifully and suit warm-coloured interiors. Spaces with beige or other warm hues often look their best with 3000 K. Areas designed for relaxation, are usually lit with warm 3000 K lighting.
Neutral and cool tones complement minimalist designs and interiors dominated by monochrome colours. Neutral white is ideal for workspaces, since it causes less eye strain and can feel energising. In bathrooms and toilets, neutral lighting often makes the space look cleaner.
With adjustable CCT lights, you can always adjust the lighting to match your space, mood, and decor perfectly.
