Are LedStore lights compatible with free@home home automation?

Yes. True intelligence is provided by DALI transformers, and Zigbee transformers. All the lights connected to them are free@home compatible. The concept of smart lighting at LedStore covers (almost) all products in the range. In the simplest terms, the same lights can be selected for smart lighting as would be selected in a situation where there are no smart controls. In ABB-free@home home automation, the core of the intelligence of the lighting is in the ballast/driver or relay of the light. In simple terms, the drivers of the lights are connected to a programmable interface port, the System Access Point. This allows, for example, to program specific switch-on and switch-off times for the light using a computer or mobile device in the free@home interface. In addition to programming, the lights can also be operated using the wall-mounted buttons. The lighting is selected so that the type of light and the light driver/transformer are suitable for the desired application. For example, dimming and/or colour temperature (white light Kelvin) adjustment is available on a large number of LedStore lights. In addition, RGB or colour adjustable LED strips can be programmed in the smart home.

What does ABB-free@home home automation require from lighting design?

Led lights offer a wide range of options for home and garden lighting. When home automation is introduced, there are numerous benefits to lighting control. LedStore's lighting design takes into account the type of control or automation system the lights will be used in. The purpose and use of the lights is then considered in advance. For example, the need for dimming and colour temperature control is considered together with the customer and the designer specifies the appropriate lights and control devices. The most versatile control options are provided by DALI2 and Zigbee protocol compatible ballasts/drivers for free@home. Zigbee compatible wireless controllers are also available from LedStore, if required. DALI2, as well as Zigbee allow CCT, RGBW and RGB+CCT options. With DALI2 ballast /drivers installations are made by wiring from the ballast to the system access point, the System Access Point. Ledstore's DT8 transformers are ABB tested and functional! Bus cabling to be taken into account during installation, i.e. 2-pole low-current cabling is carried from the System Access Point to the transformers along with the mains power. Often the cable is 5 x 1,5mm2 MMJ In the Zigbee option, the control of the lights is integrated via the Philips HUE bridge to free@home. In this option, the HUE bridge talks to the free@home System Access Point and the lights appear in the application for direct programming. The drivers only need mains power, as control commands go through the Zigbee wireless Mesh network. During the lighting design phase, we also discuss with the client which method is better to use.
