  • Product description

    5m LED strip light narrow SOLO, 4000K, 24V, 7,2W/m, IP65, CRI90

The Superhead 4000K SOLO 7,2W/m light strip provides a beautifully even light. The ribbon has a colour rendering index of 90 which means that colours are beautifully reproduced. This LED strip is dimmable. The narrow SOLO LED strip is, as the name suggests, only 5mm narrow!

    Installation

The LED strip comes in 5m rolls and can be cut to size in 25mm increments. The ribbon comes with a 50 cm DC plug-in connecting cable pre-wired at both ends. The red wire is the +, and the black wire is the -. Our LED strip is easy to attach with the 3M very strong adhesive tape included. The cut points can be found on the underside of the strip under the tape. The cut points have copper dots, so you can solder a low current wire to the strip from these points to connect to the transformer. We recommend soldering the tapes together. When soldering, use a knife to open up the silicone coating that protects the strip at the copper points.

We recommend that for long runs (over 10m), the transformer supply is branched at both ends of the LED strip to avoid light degradation at one end of the strip. The led strip should always be attached to an aluminium strip so that excess heat is conducted away from the led circuit. This will prolong the life of the led strip. Aluminium profiles can be ordered from our online shop, where we have a wide range of different profiles available. We also offer a range of branching plugs and connecting wires.

LED strip works well with solar power, boats and cars if they use 24VDC. Then a separate power supply is not needed. In other cases, order a 24V power supply of suitable power for the strip. The power supply does not need to be dimmable when dimming with a regulator and receiver. Alternatively, there is a wireless control RF or Zigbee transformer, where the transformer is paired directly to the wireless button.

We are happy to help with installation and ordering questions.

    Dim

To dim your LED strip, you can use either a traditional rotary, wired dimmer or our VaLO RF Series wireless dimmer. When using the rotary conventional dimmer, the transformer of the LED strip must be TRIAC dimmable. The strips can also be controlled by DALI systems. Wireless dimming is perfect for applications where there is no wall switch for the luminaire, but the luminaire is powered by a constant current.

In the case of a smart home, a Zigbee transformer and controllers for wireless control are chosen. In Zigbee transformers, the receiver is already built-in.

With the VaLO RF wireless solution, you simply install the receiver between the LED strip and the power supply. You can then control the strip with wireless switches from wherever you want. The wireless switch is powered by batteries, which are easily replaceable. You can also mount the switch on the wall if you wish, but it does not need a separate power supply.

    Create your own light

Why use SOLO SLIM LED strip only for traditional applications when you can make a luminaire out of almost anything? The ribbon's special headband builds offer new possibilities! Create your own wall light by bending the LED strip and the aluminium profile to the shape you want, or by fixing the LED strip to another highly heat conductive material. Turn a mirror, table frame, trunk, table or chair into a lamp with the LED strip. A good design is half the job. We are happy to help you with your design, and we make LED strip made to measure at LedStore's LedShop.

WHAT IS CRI, THE COLOUR RENDERING INDEX

High quality LED lights also have a high colour rendering index, or CRI. A good colour rendering index (CRI) for home use is above 90, and nowadays many market lights are unfortunately closer to 80.

CRI tells you how well an LED light displays colours as they should be. For designers and architects, as well as interior designers, it should be one of the most important considerations. Make sure the lighting is perfect so that your artwork is what it is meant to be.

Colour rendering index

The colour rendering index is expressed as a number on a scale from zero to 100, where 0 = no colour rendering and 100 = full colour rendering. The colour rendering index of LED lights is also known as Ra, which is measured on a smaller scale than CRI. This Ra value does not include red tones or skin tones, for example, so it is a 'glossed' figure for the true quality of an LED light.

RA value

The Ra value measures the reproduction of colours using eight different reference colours. CRI takes into account the wider (15) wavelength range, including reds and other warm colours.

The Ra value is calculated by cutting the wavelength range, weighting the blue and violet tones, and calculating the weighted average of R numbers 1-8.

Excluded from the Ra value are, for example, the colour rendering of bright reds, yellows and greens, and shades close to skin tone. These are described by R-values between 9 and 15. The following is a picture of a measurement result that easily confuses the consumer.

This measurement is from a 9W CCT Led spot
