The role of the installation profile is threefold:
- 1. The mounting profile cools the LED strip and doubles the lifetime of the LED strip
- 2. The mounting profile makes the installation neat and tidy
- 3. The mounting profile makes the installation easier.
Yes, it is! The lifetime of LEDs is halved if the temperature of the LED circuit increases from 60 to 70 degrees Celsius. So without a cooling profile the lifetime drops radically. We do not guarantee the led strip if it is installed without a mounting profile. When properly installed, we give our LED strips a warranty of 3-7 years, depending on the type.
The easiest way to make the corners is to cut two straight pieces and make the corner with a 5cm jump wire between the led strips. This makes the installation easy and small errors in the measurement of the cabinet etc. are less of a problem. If desired, the profiles can of course be cut to length, but then there is usually no room for measurement errors and the installation is also more laborious.
Mount the profiles on the bush using the fasteners. Then glue the LED strip to the profile so that the extension of the LED strip preferably does not touch the joint of the profiles. Then install the cover so that the seam of the cover and the seam of the profile do not meet. This will make the extension unobtrusive and sturdy.
Yes you can. LedStore's aluminium profiles are IP44 splash-proof and completely waterproof from the top. So dripping water from above is no problem and you can install the beautiful light to continue under the drying cabinet.
Yes, it is. Aluminium is soft and can be cut with a wooden blade in a scalpel. The aluminium profile can be cut with a handsaw using a hacksaw. The smaller the profile, the easier it is to cut.
The surface-mounted aluminium profiles have their own screw-in brackets, where the profile is simply pressed into place. The profile can also be installed by screwing through the bottom, but then it is impossible to service the profiles because the screw is hidden under the led strip. Some profiles can also be glued in place, but this also makes it difficult to service the profile, as it is difficult to remove cleanly. In most cases, the aluminium profiles to be embedded are glued in place.
The mounting profile kit contains the profile, the opal cover, end plugs and brackets or springs, depending on the type of aluminium profile.
For a small fee, we can supply you with aluminium profile end caps as an extra.
Yes, you can. We have both submersible and surface-mounted aluminium profiles designed to withstand water. The profiles have a moisture protection rating of IP65. Of course, installation should be done in the shower tile, on top of the waterproofing. Our IP65 profile models are only 8mm thick, making them easy to install on any material!
The profile comes with springs to mount the profile to the slab roof like the spots. The springs increase the height of the profile by about 25mm. A recessed profile can also be installed by screwing through the bottom, but this usually affects ease of maintenance. However, when mounted vertically on a wall, it may be advisable to do so in order to keep the profile precisely in place.
