Aluminum Profiles for LED Strips
The aluminum profile is the part of the LED strip installation that often remains hidden in indirect lighting installations. However, aluminum plays a crucial role in heat dissipation from the LED strip and in the strip’s durability. The LED strip is attached to the aluminum profile using double-sided tape on the back of the strip. With LedStore’s aluminum profiles, the price always includes a glare-reducing plastic cover, as well as end caps and mounting hardware if the profile is surface-mounted. An aluminum profile gives your installation a neat, professional look. In addition to individual profiles, we offer custom-cut profiles and assembly services. Applications for Aluminum Profiles
Our selection includes aluminum profiles for various applications. In the kitchen, many people use them to illuminate the space above cabinets as well as the workspace beneath them. In addition, lighting can be installed in baseboards or even under the edge of an island. An LED strip mounted on an aluminum profile provides even lighting along the entire length of the countertop, making it easier to work and keep the area clean. Especially in open-concept kitchens, lighting from beneath the island countertop, along with ambient lighting installed at floor level or along the baseboards, creates a cozy atmosphere in the kitchen even in the evening.
Low-profile ceiling structures (wood paneling and drywall) and suspended ceilings are suitable for many rooms, such as the entryway, living room, bathroom, and bedroom. We offer a variety of options for aluminum profiles designed for installation in drop ceilings.

LED strips also work well in aluminum profiles outdoors, as long as proper moisture protection is ensured. The plastic cover on the profile protects against water dripping from above, but for LED strip installations more exposed to the elements, it’s best to use a waterproof LED profile—that is, one with an IP65 moisture rating. In addition, all cable entries must be sealed. The LED profile is suitable for both eaves and outdoor stair handrails. Furthermore, custom-sized wall lighting can be achieved using a recessed, single-directional profile.
Aluminum profiles for surface mounting of one or more LED strips
Most of our aluminum profiles are designed for surface mounting. They come with mounting brackets, end caps, and a diffuser (opalescent glare shield). For surface-mounted models, color options include anodized brushed aluminum, painted white, and painted black. The lowest-profile models are 8 mm high, and the tallest surface-mounted corner profiles are 30 mm high. The profiles can be used to direct the light onto a surface or a wall. With surface-mounted profiles, the light spreads across the space at a wide angle. Wall profiles illuminate the surface in one or two directions. 45-degree corner profiles direct light at an angle—for example, from the top of a cabinet toward the center of the room, or from the base of a beam into the room.
Aluminum profiles at a 45-degree angle
Angle profiles are practical when you want to direct light from a specific point to a wider area. Drop-down fixtures and enclosures where the LED has its own shelf are best illuminated with 45-degree angle profiles. Lighting directed forward and upward at a 45-degree angle is particularly effective for lighting reflected off the ceiling. In a ceiling structure that leaves the ceiling beams exposed, indirect lighting implemented with a 45-degree angle profile looks striking when the profiles are mounted on the sides of the beams. The dimensions of the angle profile designed for a single strip are 2500x19x19 mm; the mounting bracket adds approximately 2 mm to the width of the profile. For spaces requiring more light, a larger angle profile measuring 2500x30x30 mm can be selected, which can accommodate 1–3 LED strips on three different inner surfaces. It’s a good idea to add 2 mm to the profile’s dimensions to account for the bracket. A larger corner profile can also be mounted with cables, allowing you to build, for example, a custom-sized workstation light. A corner profile recessed into the bottom of a shelf, on the other hand, requires a narrow LED strip.

Aluminum profiles for recessed installation with one or more LED strips
Narrow or wider strips recessed into the ceiling provide excellent task lighting. In a recessed profile, the LED strip appears seamless even when dimmed, as the plastic cover—or diffuser—evens out the light. In indirect lighting applications, such as when installed at the bottom edge of stair treads, the LED profile provides beautiful illumination. The external dimensions of a single-strip recessed profile are 2500x8x25mm. The recessed profile also looks great in slatted ceilings in lobbies, on terraces, and under canopies. The waterproof recessed profile (IP65) is suitable for wet areas; its dimensions are 2500 x 8 x 28 mm, and it can also be installed flush with the floor surface. The wider recessed profile, designed for two-strip installations, requires a deeper recess; its dimensions are 2500 x 44 x 35 mm, and when installed with spring clips, a depth of 58 mm is required. The widest recessed profile—an aluminum profile designed for wall recessing, dimensions 78/68 x 35 x 2500 mm—creates indirect light through its curved reflective surface and is suitable for both outdoor and indoor use.
Suspended aluminum profiles with cables for building custom lighting fixtures
Suspended aluminum profiles are suitable, for example, for building LED strip lights. The full-length profiles are 2 meters long for the matte white 90x80mm suspended profile and 2.5 meters long for the 30x30mm angle profile. The 90x80mm profile provides different light levels for a workstation as follows, illustrating how installation height affects light output: 460 lux illuminance when 4 pieces of 17 W/m LED strips are installed at a height of 2 meters above the work surface on a 1.2-meter-long profile, 600 lux illuminance when 4 pieces of 17 W/m LED strips are installed 1.5 meters above the work surface on a 1.2-meter-long profile, 1,000 lx illuminance when 4 pieces of 17 W/m LED strips are installed 1 meter above the work surface on a 1.2-meter-long profile. To create a light fixture controlled by a wireless button, install a receiver from our VaLO series inside the frame and purchase a button to control the receiver. The 90x80 mm profile is also ideal for office lighting.
