    White round PIILO IP44 luminaire frame for GU10/MR16 base

    LedStore's white round PIILO lampholder, i.e. the lamp holder and the lamp holder of your choice, is designed for spaces and needs where it must be possible to change the lamp and the lamp holder must not be visible on the ceiling surface. We recommend using a halogen replacement LED bulb with this product, as LED is energy efficient, produces less heat and has a long life.

    Stylish and invisible circular bezel

    This white frame is perfectly shaped. The frame is not visible on the roof surface because it is machined into the roofing material. This lamp holder can be adjusted for different material thicknesses. Matte finish and 20 mm recessed light source. Due to the recessed light source, glare is reduced. The genuine glass lens makes the frame splash-proof (IP44).

    You can change the bulb by pulling out the central part with the suction cup.

    The frame measures 72 x 40 mm, with wings 55 x 25 mm on two sides for mounting. Cutting opening is 72 mm (75 mm at the screws).

    Installation

    This lamp holder has two wings on the sides of the circular frame. These wings are adjustable for material thicknesses from 0.1 to 20 mm, so you can mount it either behind or in front of the roofing material. The most common installation is on plasterboard.

    The most common installation method is on plasterboard:

    1. Pull the wires and install the brackets where you want to install the luminaires
    2. Mark the position of the wires.
    3. Mark where you want to locate the fixtures where you want to install the lights.
    4. Cut a 72 mm hole (plus a couple of millimetres extra for the wing screws).
    5. Adjust the wings to the desired thickness of the screed.
    6. Mount the lamp holder base with two small screws.
    7. Add more plaster, sand, add more plaster and sand some more..
    8. Paint or finish the surface as desired.
    9. Pull the stem out and attach the bulb to the stem.
    10. Fit the bulb into the lamp holder.
    11. Push the centre section into the ceiling.

    IP44 protection for damp locations

    The clear lens in this frame is made of genuine glass. The lens is glued to the frame, preventing water splashes from entering the frame.

    Led bulb options

    GU10 LED bulb

    GU10 bulbs use direct mains power We have several GU10 models, including warm 3,000K and neutral 4,000K white, as well as a colour temperature adjustable Zigbee bulb.

    The mounting space in the inner cover with GU10 should be at least 110 mm including the frame, GU10 bulb and holder.

    MR16/GU5.3 LED lamp

    MR16 (GU5.3) bulbs use 12V DC voltage and therefore require a power supply. We have several MR16 models, including warm 3 000K and neutral 4 000K white. We also offer 12V power supplies for different sizes of luminaires.


    The mounting space in the inner cover with MR16 should be at least 90 mm including frame, MR16 lamp and lamp holder.

    Safety note for installation

    For this product you must take into account all fire regulations made for the installation of halogens, as it is possible to install a halogen lamp in this frame and stem. The halogen may reach temperatures above 200 degrees Celsius.

    LedStore's KEHYS+KANTA package is intended for applications where a standard and interchangeable bulb is required. We recommend using a high quality LedStore LED bulb in the frame, so that replacement is less frequent and the heat load generated by the light source is minimised.

    When choosing a flush-mounted LED luminaire with replaceable bulb, it is important to note that the luminaire must be surrounded by fire protection in the same way as halogen lamps. If no such protection is fitted, the cost should be taken into account when selecting the luminaire. The protection is required for fire safety reasons, as it is possible to inadvertently replace an LED bulb with a halogen bulb that can heat up to over 200 degrees Celsius. Such damage cannot occur with LED spots whose lampholder type/module is not identical to that of previous halogen lights.

    This frame is stylished for recessed lightsource in ceiling for less glare.

    Cutout is 72mm.

    Installation to plasterboard

    This lamp holder comes with two 25x55mm wings on round frame sides. These wings are adjustable from 0,1 - 20mm materials. Most common installation is with plasterboards.

    Install method for plasterboard:

    1. Pull wires where you want to install lamp
    2. Mark wire position
    3. Add plasterboard
    4. cut out 72mm hole
    5. adjust wings to desided plaster thickness
    6. install lamp holder with two small skrews
    7. Add plaster, sand, add plaster and sand more..
    8. paint
    9. pull out wire thru the hole and install the lamp to the base.
    10. install lamp to middle part of lamp holder
    11. push middle part to ceiling.

    Height requirement with GU10 is +110mm including frame, GU10 bulb and base.

    Height requirement with MR16 is +90mm including frame, MR16 bulb and base.

    Safety note for Installation

    With this product, you need to take into account all fire regulations that are made for installing halogens as it it possible in some point to accidentially place a halogen bulb in this frame. Halogen might reach the temperature of  over 200 celsius. This can not happen if you use sold frame led lights.

WHAT IS CRI, THE COLOUR RENDERING INDEX

High quality LED lights also have a high colour rendering index, or CRI. A good colour rendering index (CRI) for home use is above 90, and nowadays many market lights are unfortunately closer to 80.

CRI tells you how well an LED light displays colours as they should be. For designers and architects, as well as interior designers, it should be one of the most important considerations. Make sure the lighting is perfect so that your artwork is what it is meant to be.

Colour rendering index

The colour rendering index is expressed as a number on a scale from zero to 100, where 0 = no colour rendering and 100 = full colour rendering. The colour rendering index of LED lights is also known as Ra, which is measured on a smaller scale than CRI. This Ra value does not include red tones or skin tones, for example, so it is a 'glossed' figure for the true quality of an LED light.

RA value

The Ra value measures the reproduction of colours using eight different reference colours. CRI takes into account the wider (15) wavelength range, including reds and other warm colours.



The Ra value is calculated by cutting the wavelength range, weighting the blue and violet tones, and calculating the weighted average of R numbers 1-8.

Excluded from the Ra value are, for example, the colour rendering of bright reds, yellows and greens, and shades close to skin tone. These are described by R-values between 9 and 15. The following is a picture of a measurement result that easily confuses the consumer.
