Create your own pendant light
With the profile you can easily build a light of exactly the length you want. Please let us know when ordering if you need more than one end piece or suspension cord set (2 wires). Profiles are three (3) feet long, and we also offer straight and 90 degree angle brackets to keep joints tight.
How much LED tape do I need?
Different amounts of LED strip will affect the final result, but we have tested the effect of mounting height on the amount of light. Here are the results:
- 230 lux illuminance when 2 LED strips of 17 W/m are installed at a height of 2 m above the worktop in a 1.2 m long profile
- 300 lux luminous intensity for 2 strips of 17 W/m LED at a height of 1.5 m above the worktop in a 1.2 m long profile
- 500 lux luminous intensity with 2 x 17 W/m LED strips installed 1 m above the worktop in a 1.2 m long profile.
What LED strip inside a round profile?
We have endless options for hanging light. ON/OFF, Wireless, CCT control, DALI, Zigbee, etc.
Clean look, no visible transformer
An alternative is to use our 230V LED strip (3000 or 4000K) to build LED lights. Our 230V LED strip is dimmable with TRIAC dimmers.
Unlimited power and options with external transformer
When using standard 24V LED strips, you will need an external LED transformer. We have white ready-made transformer boxes to make your ceiling installation look neat and tidy.
The Zigbee transformer has a built-in receiver, so you can buy a wireless Zigbee button (CCT or dimming) to control the light, or use an Azoula or Philips HUE app to control it (requires a separate hub/HUB).
For example, the limit for a 75W LED transformer with LED strip is:
- 3 m profile with 2 pcs CCT with adjustable LED strip
- 2.5 m profile with 2 pcs. monochrome 14.4W LED strip
What to use the hanging round LED profile for?
This is ideal for office lighting as you can build profiles by combining even longer uniform lighting solutions. You can make squares, L-shapes and straight ones. So it fits everywhere. No length restrictions.
Why not use it in a home office or as a kitchen light?
You can also fix the profile to the wall by sliding it onto screws. Make a hollywood-style mirror finish with two tubes next to the mirror.
Note
The LED strip and the power supply are ordered separately. 14,4W and more powerful LED strips are the best solution. At this rate, the LED strips create a basic even light. If you need a more powerful solution, choose our 55x75 hanging LED profile as you get 4 LED strips!
