What colour temperature of light?

The colour temperature of light (CCT, or correlated colour temperature) is expressed in kelvins. In simplified terms, the colour temperature of light varies between red and blue, with red at the lower end of the Kelvin scale (1000 K) and blue at the upper end (12000 - 18000 K). It is said that humans can distinguish between colour temperatures between 2290 and 11000 K. The temperature of light therefore describes the hue of the colour of light.

From warm to cool light

In nature, the colour temperature of light changes continuously throughout the day, from warm red in the morning to blue in the evening.

Warm light colour temperature

We have bulbs with soft warm light up to 1800 Kelvin, but the colour temperature of the light is classified as warm up to around 3500 K.

The most typical places where we need warm light are those where we entertain in the evenings. Warm LED light brings cosiness and softness to a space and enhances the warm tones of materials. The warm light gives the impression of having a lower lumen value, i.e. being dimmer. In nature, as daylight softens, the amount of light is also reduced, but this is not automatically the case with luminaires. The amount of light is the same, but the variation in the Kelvin value affects the perceived brightness.

We recommend warm white lights, especially for living rooms, bedrooms and outdoor areas.

Neutral light colour temperature

We have a wide range of luminaires with 4000 K neutral white light colour temperature.

A neutral light colour temperature of around 4000 K is often described as daylight. Neutral white light is often associated with clarity, alertness and concentration and we believe it makes spaces look cleaner. We have found that in public space projects, the 4000 K light colour temperature is clearly more popular.

We particularly recommend neutral white light for kitchens, utility rooms, studies, offices and public spaces.

Cool light colour temperature

Daylight type 6,000 Kelvin is used for spaces where an active atmosphere is desired, such as fast food restaurants, sports facilities, shops and production areas.

The higher you go up the Kelvin, the cooler the colour temperature of the light becomes. at 9000 K and above, the colour temperature of light can be described as the "blue of a cloudless sky". Our range includes a 10,000 K led ribbon light to bring the "blue of the sky" to your space.
