CCT OR KELVIN ADJUSTABLE LED SPOTS FOR CREATING ATMOSPHERE

One of the best benefits of having a spare lamp compartment is the possibility of changing the atmosphere. For active daytime, the spot can provide a cool white light reminiscent of a clear day, and for evening, a white light reminiscent of the glow of a fireplace or sunset. Research into the impact of lighting on human biological rhythms and health benefits is being carried out in a growing number of countries, where current data suggest that, in addition to comfort, the back-up lighting mode may have an impact on factors such as alertness.

CCT - the range of the back-up lamp mode

All our spotlight models in our range also have a version with a spare lamp. We call them CCT (Correlated Color Temperature), or CCT spots. They can be set to one of three different Kelvin settings (lambent, neutral and cool white). With a suitable control device, this can also be done continuously (from about 2500K to 6500K). CCT spots are dimmable in addition to the spare lamp mode and have a very high dimming index. This is a measure of how natural the shadows appear in the light of the luminaire. A poor rendering index will, for example, give a dirty yellow feel to the room.

Why choose a spotlight with a spare bulb?

A spotlight with a spare lamp allows you to change the interior to suit your mood, or, for example, to match the rhythm of the human Sirkadian rhythm. In a sardonic rhythm, the lamp mode and the brightness of the light are shaped by the sunlight, giving a cooler light in the morning and a brighter light in the evening, for example. This supports the natural hormonal function of humans and enhances the natural human circadian rhythm. Read more here

Kelvin adjustable luminaires are suitable for all areas of the home, both indoor and outdoor. Directional CCT spots are well suited to sloping ceiling surfaces, while the fixed-frame ones are not affected by dampness in awnings.

How does the spare lamp space work?

In terms of technology, the back-up lamp mode is provided by a cold and light bulb LED circuit. There are 2 different ways of obtaining a back-up lamp in spots.

BASIC way

The spots are supplied with a standard transformer (included in the price). The standard transformer is TRIAC dimmable. On the side of the transformer or on the wire there is a 3-position switch to select Cold, Neutral, or Lammin as the back-up light mode . You can change the transformer setting by taking the luminaire down and off the sawtooth current. Not for every day changes. The spot transformer can fit through the spot mounting hole.

FREE way

In this installation method, each spot is purchased without its own transformer, and the price of the transformer is refunded. The spots are connected to a group transformer in parallel or in series, allowing the entire group of spots to be supplied from a single bay.

The group transformer can be placed further away (+10m) and usually requires a service hatch.

Each spot has 3 wires (+, cold and lamb) which are connected to the transformer. You can use your own 3-pole wiring, or a ready-made LedStore wiring harness with pull-out and branching.

Buttons can be either freely programmable or simple single group buttons that give you the back-up lamp mode and brightness of the light in the luminaire.

Alongside the buttons, you can use an app, which has advantages such as

• Automation (motion sensors, clock, etc. )
• Scenet (certain lights are available as a group)
• Lights imitate the solar cycle (circadian rythm)

Zigbee CCT

A wireless and reliable technology where only mains power is supplied to each transformer. Each Zigbee transformer also acts as a network amplifier and extends the connection path by selecting buttons and devices. The network works in two directions and the signal always takes the shortest route to the boating device. If one device is removed from the network, Zigbee automatically repairs the network and finds a new route. The buttons have a range of 20 metres to the nearest device.

The control buttons are freely positionable, so the button talks wirelessly to the transformer. The button also uses a battery so no saw wiring is required, and as the power is only consumed when the button is pressed, it will last for several years (CR2032). The buttons are 55x55mm wide and fit for example EXXACT, INTRO, and similar frame sets. You can use more than one button to control the same group and change your mind freely.

In addition to the buttons, you can control groups of luminaires with an app by purchasing a Zigbee 3.0 Hub. There are several manufacturers of Hubs, including:

• Homey

All of the above are great for lighting control, but there are functional differences. Some only allow you to control lights, while others can be connected to various sensors. If you already have a working system, you can continue to use it without worry.

DALI and DALI2

DALI is a wired control technology with a long history. DALI requires a 2-pole power cable for each control device in addition to mains power. This is why DALI sites often run 5x1,5mm3 cable everywhere, so that the saw wiring is also connected to the field wiring, with 2 wires dedicated to the field.

In DALI everything is controlled by the DALI Master, which is the heart of the system. Each DALI device is connected to the DALI Master's outgoing line, which is like a blood vessel. The information transmitted by the devices flows along it all the time, in both directions.

The newer DALI2 allows CCT, RGB and RGB+CCT controls with a single DALI address, which is a significant advantage as it makes DALI programming much easier.

DALI programming is more complicated than Zigbee programming, but it has its supporters and is used in prestige locations, hotels, etc. A physical cable connects all the devices and is therefore reliable. Buttons are usually supplied by DALI cables.

As with Zigbee, DALI also makes it useful to use group transformers. Of course, each luminaire can also be supplied with its own transformer, allowing individual luminaire control.
