Aluminium profiles or aluminium strips for led strips

The aluminium strip is the part of the LED strip installation that is often hidden in indirect lighting installations. However, aluminium plays an essential role in the direction of light, the conduction of heat away from the LED strip and the durability of the LED strip. The aluminium profile is also effective in providing direct lighting on worktops. The LED strip is fixed to the aluminium trim with double-sided tape on the back of the LED strip. Applications of aluminium profiles or mouldings

Our range includes aluminium profiles for various applications. In the kitchen, there are many items where an aluminium profile mounted on a led strip is ideal. Many illuminate the space above the cabinets, as well as the work area underneath the cabinets. With an LED strip attached to an aluminium strip, even light is provided over the entire length of the worktop, making it easier to work and keep clean. Both high and low surface profiles are suitable for underneath the cabinets, a profile for two strips. If the aluminium strip is to be completely flush with the underside of the cabinet, a flush profile is used. Particularly in open-plan kitchens, lighting from below the table level of the island and mood lighting at plinth level on the floor creates a cosy atmosphere in the kitchen, even in the evening.

Short ceiling structures (wood panels and plasterboard) and drop-down ceilings are suitable for many rooms, such as hallways, living rooms, bathrooms and bedrooms. Aluminium trims or profiles for these applications are suitable for direct downward or 45 degree angle lighting, surface-mounted or recessed trims for a single LED strip.

The LED strip can also be used outdoors on aluminium profiles, as long as good moisture protection is provided. The plastic cover of the strip protects against water dripping from above, but for more weathered LED strip installations it is best to use a waterproof LED profile, i.e. with a moisture rating of IP65. In addition, all penetrations should be sealed. The LED profile is suitable for both eaves and handrails on external stairs. In addition, customized masonry lighting can be achieved with a recessed, one-way illuminated, flush-mounted profile.

Aluminium profiles for surface mounting of one or more LED strips

Most of our aluminium profiles are surface-mounted. They come with brackets, end caps and diffuser (opal diffuser). Our surface-mounted profiles are available in 2.5 m lengths, i.e. the unit price is per 2.5 m of profile. The colour options for the surface models are anodised brushed aluminium, painted white and painted black. The lowest models are 8 mm high and the highest surface-mounted corner profiles are 30 mm high. The profiles can be used to direct the direction of light on a plane or wall surface. The surface-mounted profiles direct light at a wide angle into a space. The wall-mounted profiles illuminate a surface in one or two directions. The 45° angle profiles direct light at an angle, for example from the top of a cupboard towards the centre of a room, or from the root of a beam into a room.

Aluminium profiles at a 45-degree angle

Angled profiles are practical when you want to direct light over a wider area of the object. Counters and enclosures, where a shelf is left for the LED, should be illuminated with a 45-degree angled profile. forward and upward lighting at a 45 degree angle is particularly effective for lighting reflected through the roof. In a roof structure that leaves the ceiling joists exposed, indirect lighting with a 45 degree angle profile is spectacular when the profiles are installed on the sides of the joist. The dimensions of the corner strip for one strip are 2500x19x19mm, the bracket adds about 2mm to the width of the strip. For a space requiring more light, a larger corner profile 2500x30x30mm can be chosen to accommodate 1-3 LED strips on three different internal surfaces. It is worth adding 2 mm to the dimensions of the profile for the bracket. The larger angle profile can also be mounted with cables, which allows the profile to be used to build a task light, for example, according to the dimensions.

Aluminium profiles for recessed mounting of one or more LED strips

Flush-mounted narrow or wider strips in the ceiling provide good target lighting. With a recessed profile, the LED strip looks spotless even when dimmed, because the light is smoothed out by a plastic cover, the diffuser. In indirect lighting, such as at the bottom of stair treads, a recessed LED profile provides beautiful illumination. The external dimensions of a single strip of flush-mounted profile are 2500x8x25mm. The flush-mounted profile also looks good on strip ceilings in foyers, terraces and roofs. The waterproof IP65 profile is suitable for wet areas, dimensions 2500x8x28mm, also suitable for floor installation. The wider flush-mounted profile for double strip installations requires a deeper recess, 2500x44x35mm, and with spring fixings a mounting depth of 58mm is required. In the widest flush-mounted profile, the aluminium wall-mounted profile, 78/68x35x2500mm, creates indirect light through its curved reflective surface, and is suitable both outdoors and indoors.

Suspendable aluminium profiles with wire ropes for the construction of individual luminaires

Suspendable aluminium profiles are suitable for the construction of LED strip lighting, for example. The whole profiles are 2 metres long in a matt white treated hanging 90x80mm profile, and 2.5 metres long in a 30x30mm corner profile.the 90x80mm profile provides different amounts of light to the workstation as follows, as an example of the effect of mounting height on the amount of light: 460 lx luminous intensity when installing 4 pcs of 17 W/m LED strips at 2 m above the worktop on a 1.2 m long profile, 600 lx luminous intensity when installing 4 pcs of 17 W/m LED strips at 1.5 m above the worktop on a 1.2 m long profile, 1 000 lx luminous intensity when installing 4 pcs of 17 W/m LED strips at 1 m above the worktop on a 1.2 m long profile. The wireless push-button adjustable luminaire is obtained by installing a receiver of our VaLO series inside the frame and by purchasing a push-button control for the receiver. The 90x80 mm profile is also ideal for office lighting.
