Led sauna lights

Our range of Led spotlights also includes a durable model for the paneled roof of your sauna. Led sauna lights can also be installed under the logs or on the wall to create mood lighting. Our sauna spotlight ranges feature a high moisture protection power supply and durable rubber cables.

Sauna lights provide ambiance

The light colour tone matches the wooden panels of the sauna with a warm white lighting of 3 000 Kelvin. There are 3 different products to choose from, to create an elegant atmosphere.

Sauna lighting is easy to install

The light kit is easy to install in the ceiling, provided that space is left above. The lighting kit requires a height of 50mm on the top skirting. The body of the luminaire is matt silver. Heat resistant luminaires should be used in the sauna.

The price of the lighting kit is made up of parts and as many spots as desired can be installed on the ceiling. Each sauna spot comes with a 5 m spacer cable with a ready-made socket for extension. You can therefore extend the cable with another intermediate cable.

The price of the spots ranges from 100€ and upwards. The main price for the spots comes from the installation.

Led ribbon for sauna

Sauna lighting can be provided by a led strip under the benches or on the backrest. The strips are suitable for the sauna to bring light and a comfortable atmosphere. For the fire room, we recommend choosing a low-powered led strip, which provides a suitable atmospheric light. The strips are easy to install. Profiles are usually reasonably priced, starting from 150€ upwards (2m strip + transformer).

The most commonly installed LED strips in saunas are lower power, 3-7 W/metre, as they produce less heat themselves.

The light profile is easy to install

The strips are easy to install, as they can simply be dripped behind the backrest in the profile to create an atmosphere in the sauna. The lighting is simply installed by screwing the brackets into place and pressing the led sauna lights into place. The profiles come in a variety of options, including the most popular colour - Black.

Led strip is not recommended for the ceiling

The strip light typically withstands up to 60-70 degrees heat for extended periods of time. Led is not heat resistant (above 80 degrees) and is not recommended for ceilings. Install spot sauna lights on the ceiling instead.

Led strip for sauna is selected according to its characteristics

There are many different options to choose from, and it's not quite the same which product you put in the sauna. The most important feature is the IP65 water and dust resistance of the strip. Usually the need for lighting in the sauna is not very high, but for cleaning purposes it is good if the LED strip in the sauna is more illuminating.

Single tone led strip for sauna

The most popular model of our monochrome led strip has long been the 7.2W IP65 3000K light strip in warm tones. This is because the sauna is for relaxation and the warm light combined with the steam is soothing. In addition, the 3000K (warm) colour temperature suits the most popular sauna materials: pine and tarred alder.

An equally effective strip for narrow installation spaces is the SOLO 7,2 IP65 3000K, just 5 mm wide. Both of these strip types are also available in a neutral shade. If your taste is fresher and lighter shades of materials are preferred, or if you do not want to emphasise the warm tones of the surfaces in the sauna room, 4000K neutral white is also a good choice for the sauna.

The shade of light you choose will therefore depend on the colour of the materials in the sauna and your own preferences. The picture shows warm at the top and neutral at the bottom:

Temperature adjustable LED ribbon for sauna to create a variable atmosphere

A temperature adjustable LED sauna strip is a popular solution. It can be used to light up any sauna. You can adjust the Kelvin, or colour temperature, to match the shades of the materials. Or just the mood. The Changeable Colour Temperature LED strip light allows you to adjust the Kelvin between 2500-6500K, depending on the type of strip. The most important feature of these temperature adjustable strips is the IP65 water and dustproof protection.

For temperature adjustable LED strips you always need your own controls, as basic switches or dimmers do not control the colour temperature. We recommend our range of wireless control ZIGBEE devices.

Sauna light output

In the sauna, people relax and therefore the need for light power is usually low. Modern saunas have a lot of glass and through the window in the washroom a lot of light easily enters the sauna room. This raises the question of whether the sauna needs any light at all. Yes, at least a cleaning light and of course a mood light.

For mood lighting, a 3.6W/m LED strip for the sauna is sufficient. If the strip is installed in the sauna indirectly under the ceiling and in front of a headboard or grille, it would be good to have more power, 7,2W/m. Another reason to choose a more powerful strip for the sauna is dark surfaces. If you have a black sauna, you can easily lose up to 50% of the light output.

Our recommended ribbon type for saunas is the 3.6W SOLO CCT, which is completely spotless. The same ribbon for those requiring more power is also available in a double brightness 7.2W SOLO CCT.

Good to know about profiles before installation

You can get the profiles from our LedPaja ready for installation if you wish, but here are a few details that may be useful:

• The aluminium profile is splash-proof (IP44), and in the sauna the LED strip is always IP65, which means you can install the strip where you want.
• In the aluminium profile, the supply cable always comes from the end with the hole in it. It is a good idea to ensure water tightness when installing.
• If the length of the table/backrest is e.g. 180cm, then the finished profile should be 172cm, i.e. 170 cm for the LED strip and 2 cm longer for the profile so that the soldering end fits properly inside the profile.
• You can connect more than one profile wire to the same transformer.
• The sauna ribbon profile is usually fixed with its own surface fasteners which are simply screwed into the bottom of the ceiling every 50-80cm.
• Corners are well done, by making a corner connection wire / jumper wire of about 10 cm in the corner between the profiles.
• I would avoid corners that go into the surface of the raft, as the joint is always the weakest point and standing water on the joints is not a good thing.
• All joints should be soldered with tin solder to make a durable joint.
