Dimmable and moisture-proof (IP54), the surface-mounted plafond 160 illuminates brightly and, with its sleek appearance, is ideal for general lighting throughout your home. The luminaire has a flat surface, a departure from the convex shape of a traditional plafond. The height of the surface frame is 39mm. The surface plafond 160 is ideal for installation in stone houses, on concrete ceilings or on the surface of cavity slabs, for example. A small installation space for connectors is required.
This luminaire is a good option for homes where discreet and unobtrusive lighting is desired. The luminaire can be used throughout the house to create uniform lighting, allowing the architectural design of the space to be reflected. The luminaire is damp-proof (IP44), so it can be used in damp areas and outdoors, such as carports. The luminaire body is made of aluminium and powder coated in matt white. The diffuser is made of matt acrylic.
Technology
Surface plate 160, 12W gives 800 lumens. The LED circuits in the luminaire are mounted directly on the body. This solution achieves maximum thermal conductivity and safe operating temperature (below 50 degrees Celsius). The low operating temperature ensures a long lifetime of 50,000h.
Colour rendering index (CRI) is over 90 and thermal conductivity is excellent. High quality components ensure that the light colour does not fade.
The pintaplafond 160 will not be affected by frost, rain or snowstorms if it is installed on the roof of a carport or terrace. The surface plafond 160 LED luminaire is widely used as a replacement for spotlights for general lighting both indoors and outdoors. The light provided by the luminaire is more uniform than a spotlight and is ideal for general lighting. In addition, the matt surface completely hides the LED circuits from view and provides a uniform light without sharp shadows.
The light is available in 3000K (warm white) and 4000K (neutral white).

Installation
The luminaire is surface mounted. To install, first remove the frame, prop it up and screw it to the ceiling using the screws and props for stone walls supplied. The frame is removed by pushing.
Each luminaire is supplied with its own power supply with quick connector, which is integral with the luminaire. The power supply has a quick connector for easy installation, which is connected to the mains power supply. The installation of the luminaire is electrical work and requires adequate qualifications.
Dimming
Dimming is carried out with TRIAC dimmers from the ENSIO side. Suitable dimmers, which we have tested, can be found in Schneider's EXXACT and ABB's Impressivo series of dimmers, as well as our own wireless VaLO series. See more in our dimming section.
It is possible to connect up to 24 surface ceiling 160, 12W luminaires to the same dimmer, e.g. Schneider's EXXACT 315RC transistor dimmer (315W), and up to 7 to our own wireless VaLO series receiver.

This LED PLAFOND 160 is surface mounted and covers nicely the typical hole on the ceiling. Driver inside the body. First attach the frame to the ceiling, then connect the wires (230V) and the just push the light to the frame. The light stays cool, so it can be installed on wood or plaster. Installing lights is electrial work.

WHAT IS CRI, THE COLOUR RENDERING INDEX
High quality LED lights also have a high colour rendering index, or CRI. A good colour rendering index (CRI) for home use is above 90, and nowadays many market lights are unfortunately closer to 80.
CRI tells you how well an LED light displays colours as they should be. For designers and architects, as well as interior designers, it should be one of the most important considerations. Make sure the lighting is perfect so that your artwork is what it is meant to be.
Colour rendering index
The colour rendering index is expressed as a number on a scale from zero to 100, where 0 = no colour rendering and 100 = full colour rendering. The colour rendering index of LED lights is also known as Ra, which is measured on a smaller scale than CRI. This Ra value does not include red tones or skin tones, for example, so it is a 'glossed' figure for the true quality of an LED light.
RA value
The Ra value measures the reproduction of colours using eight different reference colours. CRI takes into account the wider (15) wavelength range, including reds and other warm colours.
The Ra value is calculated by cutting the wavelength range, weighting the blue and violet tones, and calculating the weighted average of R numbers 1-8.
Excluded from the Ra value are, for example, the colour rendering of bright reds, yellows and greens, and shades close to skin tone. These are described by R-values between 9 and 15. The following is a picture of a measurement result that easily confuses the consumer.
