In the Helmeile strip light we use SMD 5050 led circuitry with a colour rendering index of over 85. This LED strip is dimmable and intended for indoor use. Our LED strip is easy to fix with the 3M high adhesive tape. The 14.4W/m 12V Helmeile led strip has a luminous intensity equivalent to almost 120cm of fluorescent tube, so you will save a lot of electricity with this solution!

For general lighting
Our Helmeile strip has a light output of 14.4W/m and 60 LED circuits per metre. This makes the light uniform enough for indirect lighting and countertop lighting, for example. When mounted on an aluminium profile, the spotlight is only noticeable when looking directly at the light from the front. When indirectly illuminated through a wall, the light is uniform. The CRI of the strip is over 85, which is good and suitable for use in home lighting.
Installation
In addition to the Led strip, a power supply and aluminium profile are required for installation, as well as operating switches.
The LED strip comes in 5m rolls and can be cut to size in increments of 5cm. The tape has clear markings to make cutting easier. We recommend soldering the strips together, as we have found that the quick connectors loosen over time and loosening causes the lights to flash. Both ends of the tape come with pre-attached connectors that you can use depending on the destination and installation method.
We recommend powering from both ends if the 12V strip is more than 5m in a continuous length, this prevents light loss and gives an equally bright light from both ends. The Led strip should always be attached to an aluminium strip to allow excess heat to be conducted away from the LED circuitry. This extends the life of the LED strip and keeps the strip warranty valid. Aluminium profiles can be ordered from our online shop, where they are available in a variety of different types.
The LED strip works well with solar power, boats and cars that use 12VDC, then a separate power supply is not required. In other cases, order a 12V power supply suitable for the strip (e.g. 5m 14,4W is 72W in total, so any 12V power supply above 72W will do).
Connecting plugless drivers is electrical work and requires adequate qualifications. We are happy to help with any installation questions.
Dim
For dimming your LED strip you can use either a traditional rotary wired dimmer or our VaLO RF series wireless dimmer. When using a conventional rotary dimmer, the driver of the LED strip must be TRIAC dimmable. The strips can also be controlled by DALI systems. Wireless dimming is perfect for applications where there is no wall switch for the light, but the light is powered by a constant current.
In the case of a smart home, a Zigbee driver and controllers for wireless control are chosen. In Zigbee drivers, the receiver is already built-in.
With the VaLO RF wireless solution, you simply install the receiver between the LED strip and the power supply. You can then control the strip with wireless switches from wherever you want. The wireless switch is powered by batteries, which are easily replaceable. You can also mount the switch on the wall if you wish, but it does not need a separate power supply.
Create your own light
Why use an LED strip only for traditional applications when you can make a light from almost anything? Create your own wall light by bending the LED strip and the aluminium profile into the shape you want, or by fixing the LED strip to another heat-conducting material. Turn a mirror, table frame, trunk, table or chair into a lamp with the LED strip. A good design is half the job. Led-nauhan lisäksi asentamiseen tarvitaan virtalähde ja alumiiniprofiili, sekä käyttökytkimet.
LED nauha tulee 5m rullassa ja sitä voi leikata määrämittaan aina 5cm välein. Nauhassa on selkeät merkit leikkaamista helpottamaan. Suosittelemme yhdistämään nauhat juottamalla, koska olemme todenneet pikakiinnikkeiden löystyvän ajan kanssa ja löystyminen saa valot vilkkumaan. Nauhan molemmissa päissä on valmiiksi liittimet, joita voit käyttää kohteesta ja asennustavasta riippuen.
Suosittelemme virran syöttöä molemmista päistä, jos nauhaa on yli 5 metrin yhtenäinen pätkä. Näin ehkäistään valonalenemaa ja saadaan molemmista päistään yhtä kirkas valo.
Led nauha tulee aina kiinnittää alumiinilistaan, jotta ylimääräinen lämpö johtuu pois led piiristä. Tämä pidentää led nauhan käyttöikää ja pitää nauhan takuun voimassa. Alumiiniprofiileja voi tilata nettikaupastamme, jossa niitä on tarjolla erilaisia.
LED nauha toimii hyvin aurinkoenergian kanssa veneissä ja autoissa, jotka käyttävät 12VDC. Silloin erillistä virtalähdettä ei tarvita. Muissa tapauksissa tilaa nauhalle sopiva 12V virtalähde (esim. 5m 14,4W on yht. 72W eli kaikki yli 72W 12V led nauhojen virtalähteet käyvät).
Suosittelemme nauhakelan avaamista ja testaamista ennen nauhan liimaamista alumiiniprofiiliin. Kuljetuksessa mahdollisesti tulleet viat eivät välttämättä näy päällisin puolin, mutta paljastuvat, kun nauha kytketään päälle. Älä kuitenkaan jätä nauhaa päälle rullalle, sillä rulla kuumenee nopeasti ilman jäähdyttävää alumiiniprofiilia.
HUOM! Led nauha tulee AINA kiinnittää alumiiniprofiiliin tai muuhun lämpöä johtavaan materiaaliin (alumiiniteippi ei ole riittävä alusta). Takuu ei kata väärin asennettuja led nauhoja!
