The Led fluorescent tube is suitable as a replacement for conventional fluorescent tubes. Our Led tubes are suitable for 99% of old fluorescent tube bodies. The light does not crackle or flicker, and comes on instantly.

Fluorescent tube with LED technology - features

The advantages of the Led tube are its long lifetime compared to a normal T8 fluorescent tube. The T8 tube is also easy to use, as you no longer need to change lighters: the LED fluorescent tube comes with a lighter or you don't need one at all. The Led T8 fluorescent tube lights up instantly, so it can also be used with a motion sensor. Led fluorescent tubes are very resistant to cold, so there is no problem with a reduction in light output when they are installed outside. In fact, led lasts a little longer in the cold and burns brighter.

By using our Led fluorescent tubes, you get significantly more downward light output than with a standard fluorescent tube. So, for example, 25W led tubes are equivalent in luminous intensity to 58W fluorescent tubes, which means up to 60% lower energy consumption. If the choke and igniter are removed from the fluorescent tube body (modification), the energy saving increases up to 80%. In our LED fluorescent tubes, the light comes in 160 degrees in one direction and the direction of the light can be changed from 0 to 30 degrees (depending on the model of the LED tube).

Led tube produces bright light

For the light colour of the Led tube you can choose between a warm 3000K, a neutral 4 000K, a cool 5000K or a so-called daylight colour of 5 500 Kelvin. The tubes have a high colour rendering index, so the light is not a pimped blue light and the luminaire does not distort colours. A colour rendering index of CRI 90, CRI 95 or even CRI 98 ensures that ambient colours are reproduced brightly and naturally. If you need a larger batch (more than 50 pieces) we can make fluorescent tubes with the desired light colour tone.

Two different installation methods

Led tubes are one of the few types of bulbs that cannot always be directly replaced by an old bulb. So be careful with the trade! This is because the choke and igniter resistant electronics are more expensive and also leave the components with a fire risk still in the fluorescent tube body. What makes it tricky is that the modification is electrical work, so it requires professional help to make the change. LedStore offers an installation service if required.

Compatible LED tubes

Installing an LED tube is simple and can often be done without having to change the luminaire structure. It requires a so-called compatible tube. The LED tube often works directly with the ballast of an old fluorescent tube, which means that the ballast does not need to be removed or replaced. This makes replacement quick and easy.

In these solutions, the old ballast therefore remains in the body of the luminaire, consuming electricity unnecessarily throughout. So in such solutions we have ballast -> led tube with additional electronics for the ballast -> power supply -> led circuits.

The fire risks in a traditional fluorescent lamp are the ballast and the oxidized connectors, and the fluorescent tube itself. Therefore it is also recommended to replace the body with the old tubes.

Compatible tubes are available in our range in lengths of 60cm, 120cm and 150cm.

However, it is important to remember that not all LED tubes are compatible with all luminaires. Some LED tubes require modification of the luminaire in order to work correctly. Therefore, it is important to choose the right LED tube to replace the fluorescent tube. There are LED tubes that work directly with the ballast of old fluorescent tubes, but there are also LED tubes that require the ballast to be removed or replaced.

In these new types of LED tubes, the idea is that the luminaire body is also replaced or modified from the old fluorescent tube body. As part of the modification, the ballast is removed and the mains current is routed directly to the other end of the tube. The other end is usually short-circuited in such LED tubes to prevent the tube from passing voltage.

The modification work is electrical work and we also offer installation services in the PK area if required.

Led tube frames

In our range you will find IP21 and IP65 frames. Led T8 lamp bodies differ from the traditional fluorescent tube body in that they completely lack a place for the choke and igniter and are wired at one end only.
